What is the merit of establishing the Nagoya University Alumni Association (NUAL)?
A Nagoya University has been carrying out various activities in research and education with self-responsibility since the acquisition of the autonomous corporate status in April 2001.
The NUAL was founded with expectation to play its significant roles to collaborate closely with society through human exchanges.
Why NUAL was established while there had been alumni associations of departments and courses?
A For Nagoya University with the autonomous corporate status to carry out activities in collaboration with society, having a university-wide alumni association can maximize the benefits of comprehensive university.
By taking multilayered approach and sharing the tasks between a university-wide alumni association and alumni associations of departments and courses, the university-wide alumni can be considered an essential organization that links the University and society.
What is the merit to become a member of NUAL?
It is now much easier for a member to obtain university-wide information and various news on social contributions by alumni as well as people related to Nagoya University, and it helps a member to strengthen a relationship with university.
It also promotes closer cooperation among members beyond the departments and courses. NUAL has been making its efforts to plan and implement various activities, which are beneficial to both Nagoya University and NUAL members.
What is the requirement to be a member of the NUAL?
In principle, anyone, who was enrolled in Nagoya University, or who is currently enrolled, is eligible to be a member of the NUAL. Any former/current faculty member is eligible as well. Please note that if you are the member of alumni association of your department or course, you are automatically registered as a member of the NUAL. Please refer to the regulations for details.
I was a research student. Am I eligible to be a member of the NUAL?
Yes, of course.
I am an international student. Am I eligible to be a member of the NUAL?
Yes, of course.
How can I register as a member of the NUAL?
A If you are the member of alumni association of your department or course, you are automatically registered as a member of the NUAL. If you wish to change your registration information, please contact NUAL Bureau.
Is there any membership fee?
A There is no mandatory membership fee for each member due to its large membership of about 100 thousand people. According to Article 19 of the NUAL Regulations, association expenses will be paid from sources of income that include dues paid by supporting members. These activities are run by financial supports including contributions by individuals and corporations and supporting membership fee. Your generous contribution to the NUAL is greatly appreciated.
Who can be a supporting member?
Any individual or corporation willing to support the NUAL can be a supporting membership.
